| As women are deserted by their husbands, victims of family discord, victims of dowry oppressions etc. in increasing number day by day, these women/girls are trafficked from different areas into prostitutions. For livelihood maintenance and by the pressure of smuggling rackets women/girls are also working as carrier of smuggled items like drugs, country liquor etc. Gradually women & girls of low income families are in a critical situation and facing moral danger. So, LAMP has been successfully running a Short Stay Home for Women/Girls facing moral danger at West Chowbaga , Kolkata –700105. 30 numbers of women and girls along with their children are providing boarding, lodging, health care, vocational training, counseling and rehabilitation services with the financial assistance of Central Social Welfare Board, Govt. of India and West Bengal State Social Welfare Advisory Board. |

Appeal
Funds are urgently needed for the construction of more space
for the women's home. We are appealing to the public for funds for
this needed addition to the home. Running costs of the short stay
home are provided by the Government of India. Please respond to LAMP
